Steve Evans’ Leeds are unbeaten in their last six games, and drew 2-2 in against Derby County and were a bit unlucky not to have taken all three points from the second placed team earlier in the week.

Leeds boss Steve Evans will be thankful that there has been no new scandals, and the squad are able to focus just on football prior to the match against MK Dons.

MK Dons are just two places above the dreaded relegation zone, but have had an upturn in their home form and will be hoping 2016 will bring new fortunes on the road.

Karl Robinson’s Dons have lost their last four games away from Stadium:mk, although the last three have been by just the odd goal.

FootballLeagueWorld writer Anthony Yeo identifies three things to look out for in this afternoon’s game…

1) Sam Byram

The talented young player is interesting a host of Premier League clubs, although Leeds fans will be hoping he can concentrate on the game in the same way he has done in recent weeks.

Byram played well against Derby County, and was influential in turning the Leeds performance from a drab one to a thrilling one.

He was involved in the goals and a lot of the good attacking play came through him. Leeds face a huge battle to keep him at Elland Road.

2) MK Dons’ away form

The traveling fans of the Dons will be hoping that 2016 brings more points and goals than last year, as with only one win, three draws, and just eight goals, they haven’t had much to cheer.

To survive in the Sky Bet Championship, they will need to improve away from home.

It is a tricky proposition in this league, and one manager Robinson needs to solve fast to keep them in the second tier.

3) Sol Bamba

The Leeds captain has a big role to play this afternoon.

Leeds do not concede many at home, but they also have a shortage in scoring them. Thus, Bamba and the back four have a key role in keeping the visiting forwards quiet.

He also possesses an attacking threat at set pieces in what could be a goal shy affair, so his presence at set plays could be vital.

Leeds and MK Dons fans… What is your predictions for the game? Will Leeds keep hold of Sam Byram? Who would you like to sign during the transfer window? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
