Hull City welcome Nottingham Forest to the KC Stadium tonight looking to take advantage of their two games in hand.

The Tigers currently occupy 3rd place in the Championship, however a win tonight could see them leapfrog a stuttering Middlesbrough side and go back into the automatic promotion places.

Hull has also hit a bit of a blip in form of late, as they are winless in their last three consecutive Championship games.

They face a Nottingham Forest side that will play their first game without former manager Dougie Freedman.

Freedman was dismissed from his role on Sunday after a poor run of form that saw them lose their last five out of six matches.

Although Forest enjoyed a 13-game unbeaten run from November to February, they have failed to threaten their ambitious target of a play-off spot.

Forest lie in 14th place after they suffered a 3-0 drubbing to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and will be looking to put their torrid run of form behind them.

How will Forest fare without Freedman?

Apart from their impressive two months unbeaten run, it’s been a bit of a woeful season for Forest.

It will be a tough ask for Paul Williams to come to one of the strongest teams in the Championship who pose one of the best home records in the division.

Despite Hull currently without a win in 3 games, Williams will be wary of Hull’s threat, but will want his side to be optimistic that his side can pull off a result.

All the odds are against them, as they have not recorded an away victory since their 1-0 win at Leeds at the start of February, but they will looking to change that tonight.

Can Hull end their winless record?

The Tigers are chasing their first league win in three matches, while victory would lift them back into the automatic promotion places.

They face a Nottingham Forest team that is severely low in confidence and are without a permanent manager under their reign.

This will be the perfect time to take advantage of Forest’s turbulent start to the week and Steve Bruce will have every confidence that they can comfortably turn over Forest tonight.

Forest’s injury crisis

Forest’s long list of injuries lengthened at the weekend after their top scorer, Nelson Oliviera joined several of the clubs key players such Henri Lansbury, Andy Reid and Britt Assombolonga in the treatment room.

The striker is expected to be out for at least six weeks and is still waiting on international clearance for the loan signing of Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda.

However, they will be encouraged by their emerging youngster Oliver Burke returning to action against Wednesday after a hand injury and he could be pushing for a start tonight.
