Arguably Huddersfield's toughest test at home will be this afternoon against an in form Burnley side that are top of the table.

Sean Dyche's men come into the game on the back of winning five on the bounce whereas Huddersfield have struggled to find any sort of consistency in the way Burnley have.

Burnley comes into the game on the back of a 3-2 victory over Fulham which with Fulham having a two goal lead, they probably shouldn't have won. David Wagner, however, will have seen that Burnley do have some defensive frailties that could potentially be exploited.

Huddersfield, however, do come into the game on the back of a comprehensive 3-1 victory against Reading and David Wagner's men will have some confidence even though it'll be a much more difficult task than against a weak Reading side.

Although Wagner has faced Derby at the iPro and Middlesbrough at the John Smith Stadium, this will be his biggest test to date and it will be a good marker for Huddersfield and Huddersfield fans to see how far away they are from competing at the top.

This article looks at THREE things to potentially look out for in this intriguing clash between Huddersfield and Burnley................

1) Nahki Wells v Andre Grey

An intriguing battle is between Nahki Wells and Andre Grey. Two of the most in-form strikers in the division and of similar ilk as they can stretch teams with their raw pace and athleticism.

However, the form of the two strikers is inconsistent despite there being 35 league goals between them.

Over the past couple of games Wells has missed some guilt edged chances which have led to a small minority of the fans questioning his ability and talent which seems unfair considering where Huddersfield would be without his goals.

It will be a game that Nahki Wells will need to be in his sharpest form and with Andre Grey the difference between the two sides in the reverse fixture with two goals, it could be Wells turn to show how on his day, he can be one of the best strikers in the Championship.

Andre Grey, on the other hand, will be looking to add to his catalogue of goals since his move from Brentford and Mark Hudson and potentially Joel Lynch will need to be at their best to keep Burnley's attacking options at bay.

2) Surprise Upset?

On paper, there appears to be a huge gap in quality between the two sides which would explain the 29 point gap between the two sides.

Also considering the form Burnley are in, it would be brave to consider anything other than a Burnley win however 4 of Burnley's last 5 wins have been close encounters with only a single goal separating the two sides and Huddersfield's performances have warranted better results than they've got.

If Wagner can eradicate the mistakes at the back that cost them points against Ipswich and ensure that the attacking midfielders and most importantly Nahki Wells are positive, confident and clinical then Huddersfield could cause an upset against an in form Burnley side.

The return of a re-invigorated Sean Scannell as well as Emyr Huws and Phillip Billing, both of which can dictate the flow and pace of the game from the centre of the park will be huge boosts for the West Yorkshire side and a surprising win today could be the start of a strong end to the season.

It will certainly be a different proposition to the reverse fixture at Turf Moor but although Huddersfield will no doubt create chances, the cutting edge and potency of the attacking units or lack of will be the determining factor of what Huddersfield can get from the game.

3) Burnley win?

Although I've made the case that Huddersfield could cause an upset, the easier argument to make is that Burnley will look to turn a comfortable four point gap into an extremely comfortable seven point gap.

Unbeaten in their four away games with two wins and two draws, Sean Dyche will be confident going into the game against a hit and miss Huddersfield side.

Burnley will see this as a winnable game and will most likely respect Huddersfield's style by allowing them to hold possession and dominate but they will need to be careful as Huddersfield tend to come out the traps quickly and could cause problems early on.look to play on the counter attack using Grey's pace latching onto through balls and Sam Vokes' aerial prowess being key to their game plan.

Dyche will most likely be looking to play on the counter attack using Grey's pace latching onto through balls and Sam Vokes' aerial prowess being key to their game plan.

The only concern that Sean Dyche may have is if there is an element of complacency that could mean that Burnley doesn't play with the consistency that they have had over the past month or so but if they can replicate the same performance level of the last five matches then another win and another big step towards promotion will be on the cards.
