Huddersfield kick off their 2016/17 campaign against the side that hammered them 5-1 on the final day of last season, Brentford.

Its been a busy summer for Terriers manager David Wagner as he has brought in 12 new signings, as he looks to build a squad that can better the 19th place finish achieved last time.

The John Smith's Stadium should also be bouncing thanks to the clubs impressively fan-driven season ticket prices.

Brentford have also had a strong summer, recruiting from the lower leagues with Daniel Bentley, Romaine Sawyers and John Egan arriving on free transfers while promising left-back Callum Elder has joined on loan from Leicester City.

One negative for the Bees will be the absence of talisman Alan Judge, who suffered a broken tibia and fibula towards the back end of last season and his return is not yet known.

Supporters will be eagerly anticipating the start of another new season and while both clubs suffered slightly disappointing campaigns last time, they will be hopeful of a decent season this time.

Here are THREE things to look out for in the Huddersfield Town v Brentford match...

1) A rocking atmosphere

Huddersfield have sold an impressive 15,000 season tickets thanks to their special offer from chairman Dean Hoyle, which meant supporters could watch their team all season for just £179.

In an age where football is pricing out a lot of supporters, it was refreshing to see a club think of their supporters and not so much the money to be made, instead favouring a positive atmosphere.

The club are expecting a turnout of around 18,000 supporters - 1,000 of which are expected to travel from West London - and it should be a fantastic atmosphere in Yorkshire,

2) The German talent on show

Of the 12 new arrivals at Huddersfield this summer, 5 of them have moved from Germany with manager David Wagner using his contacts and knowledge of the German game to good effect.

Most of those to move from the German leagues have been brought in to improve a sometimes leaky Terriers defence with record buy Christopher Schindler in particular raising intrigue.

There have also been some impressive loan signings - such as Danny Ward or Kasey Palmer - but supporters will be eagerly anticipating seeing their new, continental signings in action.

3) The beginning of Brentford under Dean Smith

Although the former Walsall manager arrived at Griffin Park last season following the short reigns of Marinus Dijkhuizen and Lee Carsley, this pre-season will have been the first chance to implement his sides and style on the team.

Players often benefit from a full pre-season program with a new manager and Dean Smith's style that was so often praised at the Bescot Stadium is likely to be clearer now with Brentford.

A big part of that system was their impressive attacking play and having Romaine Sawyers - a player that the manager knows and trusts - at the club will be a delight for the 45-year-old.
