Fulham take on Brentford today (3pm kick-off)

Following Marinus Dijkhuizen's departure earlier this season, Brentford appointed Walsall manager Dean Smith as their new boss and he recorded a win in his first game in charge, beating MK Dons 2-0 last weekend.

Fulham have also parted company with their manager this season and after going without a win in three games under the guidance of Peter Grant, the club have appointed former Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray as the club's Senior Coach.

The Bees are a point outside of the play-off following their improved form under Lee Carsley and a victory could see them climb into the top six, should results go their way.

The Cottagers, on the other hand, have had an extremely disappointing season despite spending significantly this summer and they currently find themselves closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs.

Here are THREE things to look out for in the Fulham v Brentford match:

1) Stuart Gray's first game in charge

With Fulham's defensive problems this season, it wasn't surprising to see them turn to a more defensive-minded coach to lead their team and Stuart Gray could be a good choice.

Although the move raised a few eyebrows, Gray is a coach know to get the best out of his sides defence and it is easy to see that the Cottagers need some work there.

There will be added pressure in this game due to the bragging rights on offer, but his experience say he will be able to deal with it.

2) Brentford still adapting to Dean Smith

Brentford's first game under a Dean Smith was an impressive victory against MK Dons and fans will be hoping to see more progress on Saturday.

The team was playing great football under Lee Carsley and the 44-year-old will be keen to keep that momentum going while making sure that they continue their attacking style of football.

The Bees showed plenty of attacking threat last weekend and with the players they have available, that threat isn't expected to diminish against Fulham.

3) A high-scoring game?

Given both sides determination to win the game, as well as the impressing attacking threat of both sides, this could be a high-scoring encounter for the fans in attendance.

While Fulham fans will be hoping that Stuart Gray will have helped the side improve defensively, he is unlikely to have been able to shore up the Cottagers' leaky defence in time for Saturday.

This game has the potential to be an open, attacking game that could have a few goals within it.
