3 things to look out for in the Fulham v Bolton Wanderers match

Fulham take on relegated Bolton Wanderers this lunchtime in their final game of the Sky Bet Championship season.

The Cottagers sit in 21st place in the table, on 48 points. A win could put them above Rotherham United, and break the 50-point barrier, which will represent a decent ending to a pretty poor season.

Back in November they were in 12th place, but their season has nose-dived dramatically since then, spending a spell in the drop zone.

Bolton, on the other hand, haven’t had a glimmer of hope of survival, 18 points behind today’s opponents. They are rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, knowing they will finish in 24th and last position.

They will definitely want to give their fans some joy after a long and difficult campaign.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Ryan Evans identifies THREE things to look out for in this final day match…

1) Is this the final time we will see Ross McCormack in a Fulham shirt?

With plenty of uncertainty surrounding Fulham’s star players, could this be Ross McCormack’s farewell to the Craven Cottage crowd?

The Scot almost signed for Middlesbrough in the January transfer window, before they eventually signed Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn. He stayed on, but for how long?

With Shahid Khan promising manager Slavisa Jokanovic money to spend this summer, and their transfer ban being lifted, there could be wholesale changes at the club this summer.

So, it could be the last time that many of these players play on the West London pitch. They will want to give them something to cheer, and it could be an emotional day in the capital.

Can McCormack inspire their team to victory today?

2) Team News – Big name out for Jokanovic

Jokanovic, who masterminded Watford’s promotion on the final day of last season, will have to cope without key man Moussa Dembele, who could also leave the club in the summer, as he is out with a calf injury.

It will devastate him that he can’t say goodbye on what will potentially be his last game at the Cottage.

Also, Michael Madl and Fernando Amorebieta will miss the game.

Bolton’s caretaker boss Jimmy Phillips will be without Gary Madine and Josh Vela due to injury, and Niall Maher via suspension. However, Wellington Silva’s last game for Wanderers before his return to Arsenal could be today, as he may return from a knock.

3) Bolton to right their woeful Craven Cottage record?

The Cottagers are on a 14-game unbeaten run at home against the Wanderers, a run that goes back to 1992.

Bolton have lost ten and drawn four in that time, and a win today will definitely be the highlight of a miserable season for the Trotters.

But who will be the one to make the difference?

Zach Clough is their top scorer with seven goals this season, but are without second-highest scorer Gary Madine. Wellington Silva has also scored twice in his time at the club, will he score a farewell goal for Phillips?

Fulham fans… what do you think? Are you confident of breaking the 50-point mark this season?
