This will be one of the most intriguing FA Cup ties of the third round.
Bolton Wanderers are a team in turmoil and sit rock bottom of the Championship. Their season has been plagued with financial issues and these have seriously dented their chances of playing Championship football next season.
Eastleigh sit fourth in the National League and are the only non-league side still in the competition and are in the third round for the first time in their history.
The Silverlake Stadium has been battling against the weather all week and will be packed out for the match against Bolton with more than 5000 expected to turn out.
One team will be in great spirits for the game and will likely give it their all, while the other may struggle to get motivated for the tie.
Here are THREE things to look out for in Eastleigh’s FA Cup match against Bolton:
1) Eastleigh will want to emulate the likes of Crawley Town and Luton Town in embarking on a great cup run.
In the 2010/11 season it was Conference side Crawley Town led by Scotsman Steve Evans that shocked English football by making it to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
In the 2012/13 season it was Luton Town who gave it their all and made the fifth round.
Eastleigh will want to emulate these sides who have performed so well in recent years and defeat Bolton to show that Non League sides can compete with the best.
2) History suggests Bolton are favourites.
Bolton have not lost to Non League opposition in the FA Cup since 1911.
In that time they have played non league teams 19 times and have won 16 of those, drawing three.
Despite their poor form and poor season overall, it is still hard to decide who will come out on top in this match. Bolton could put in a professional and efficient performance, but results are always uncertain away from home and the game could go either way.
3) Eastleigh could win only their fourth FA Cup game.
Eastleigh have already made history for their club by reaching the third round for the first time, but if they win it will only be their fourth win in the FA Cup proper.
Their last came against Lincoln city in 2014 and if they beat Bolton they can not only reach the fourth round for the first time, but pick up their fourth FA Cup win.
The likes of new signing Kaid Mohamed will be vital to Eastleigh coming out with a good result.
