There is a crucial game at the top end of League One this Tuesday evening, as Gillingham play host to Walsall at the Priestfield Stadium.
Both sides currently sit in the play-off positions, so will both be seeking the points to consolidate their promotion aspirations.
With a game that could potentially carry huge repercussions for the rest of these respective clubs’ seasons, FLW looks at THREE factors that could potentially decide the outcome of this game.
1) Gillingham’s defence
The Gills back line has been in formidable form in recent weeks, conceding just 1 goal in their last 6 games.
The timing of this has been absolutely crucial as previously Justin Edinburgh’s side has gone through a little wobbly patch, but are now back on track to secure a play-off place.
Walsall will know they will have to be very patient and precise in front of goal if they are to leave Kent with a priceless 3 points.
2) Tom Bradshaw
In the Welshman, Walsall have one of the most feared strikers in League 1, and as such will always be a threat to any side.
His 15 league goals this season have been a huge factor in the Saddlers’ fantastic season so far.
Although he hasn’t scored in his last couple of outings, his confidence will nonetheless still be high, and Gillingham will need to monitor him very closely if they are to continue their impressive recent defensive record.
3) Dack’s return
Gillingham’s key man could be in line for a start tonight as he returned to first team action in the previous game against Sheffield United.
Gillingham have struggled for goals a little recently, which illustrates just how important he is to this team.
On his day, Dack is arguably the best player in League One, and could mark his return this evening with a huge contribution to a massive match.
