Bristol City will be looking to distance themselves from the relegation zone with victory over a Queens Park Rangers side that has yet to record a win under the stewardship of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Their last win was their first away win in over a year against a Reading side under the reins of Steve Clarke for the last time at the start of the month.

City have been struggling for consistency this season, and manager Steve Cotterill will be hoping he can end his side's poor recent run of form with a victory over an easily beatable QPR side who are sitting slap bang in mid-table in 12th place.

Hasselbaink will be hoping that he can settle any doubts in his mind that he made the wrong decision in ditching Burton Albion for the capital with a win over what he will see as a very average Bristol City side.

FootballLeagueWorld writer Harry Smith identifies three things to look out for in this must-win match...

1) Charlie Austin

Just when small questions arose as to whether he was losing his scoring touch, the former Burnley striker showed why Rangers are so desperate to keep him at the club by bagging a brace against unbeaten Brighton and Hove Albion.

It helped his side to come from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, including an 88th minute equaliser.

If he carries on his form, the Bristol City defence will be in for a long afternoon.

2) Jonathan Kodjia

After arriving from French side Angers SCO in the summer for a fee close to £2 million, Kodjia hit the ground running, establishing himself as City's top scorer, and among the best in the division.

However, he has been finding goals hard to come by recently, coinciding with City's dip in form.

He will be key if Bristol City are to trouble QPR's back line in this game.

3) Bristol City's attitude

If Bristol City sit back and hold out for the draw, then if their game plan fails, and they concede early, then the momentum will be with Rangers, and they will struggle to launch a comeback.

Cotterill has to aim to penetrate what is a relatively weak QPR back line early on, establish a lead, and go from there if they are to get anything out of this game.
