Brighton are unbeaten this season, after 11 wins and ten draws, and have drawn just two games of their ten at home.

Middlesbrough went to the top of the table on Tuesday by goal difference after defeating Burnley at the Riverside Stadium, as a result of Brighton's 2-2 draw with QPR on the same night.

With Derby County and Hull City in close contention - all four clubs are only separated by two points - both clubs will be going all out for the win this afternoon.

Middlesbrough have won four of the last six away games at Brighton, so is history about to change between these teams.

FootballLeagueWorld writer Anthony Yeo identifies three things to look out for in this highly-anticipated clash...

1) Middlesbrough's defence

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka may claim that Boro' are not defensive, but they have not conceded a goal in over 400 minutes of football, and rarely when they take they lead in a match.

They have won 13 out of 14 games they have lead so far this season, making the first goal on Saturday absolutely crucial.

They are definitely a tough nut to crack so who ever scores first might well be the victor.

2) Chris Hughton v Aitor Karanka

Tactics will be key in this lunchtime clash, and these managers have repeatedly shown to be tactically sound at this level.

Both have shown the necessary nous to change the team when circumstances have dictated.

Karanka is believed to be a more defensive coach, and Hughton's Brighton are leading scorers in the division.

Will there be a tactical surprise sprung by either manager? We shall find out soon enough.

3) Stuart Downing

The former England international dropped into the Championship to go back to the club where he sprung into the limelight.

He has been very impressive so far this season both going forward and in tracking back.

He has not scored as many goals as he would have liked, but he is one of the leading assisters in the division, and someone Brighton have to keep tabs on if they are to get a result.

Will Downing shine this afternoon? I hope so, Brighton have a less solid defense than Boro', so keeping shackles on Downing will be paramount for the Brighton defenders.
