If other results go their way, Brighton could all but win promotion to the Premier League with a win against the Rams. For this to happen, Burnley must lose to QPR, which would mean that Chris Hughton's men will be three points clear of third place with just one remaining game.

Brighton go into the game coming off the back of a 3-1 win away to Charlton Athletic, whilst Derby drew their last game 1-1 against sixth place Sheffield Wednesday at the iPro Stadium.

The last time these two sides met, they drew 2-2, with Chris Martin's late penalty rescuing a point for the Rams after Brighton had twice led. Derby go into the game unbeaten in their last five matches, winning four, whilst Brighton haven't tasted defeat in their last 12 matches.

FootballLeagueWorld writer Robert Booth identifies THREE things to look out for during the game...

1) Brighton will be desperate for a win

Middlesbrough drew 2-2 on Friday night with Birmingham City, meaning that if the Seagulls win at home to Derby, they'll be two points clear of Boro going into that vital game against them at the Riverside Stadium, where the winner will gain promotion.

But due to Boro dropping points, if Brighton do win against Derby, a point will be enough to earn them promotion at the Riverside.

Brighton will be desperate to take all three points against the Rams, as it will put them in the driving seat on their way to the Premier League.

The Seagulls haven't played in the top division since 1983, but that long wait could be about to end.

2) Momentum is key for Derby

The Rams sealed their place in the play-offs earlier this month, and have remained unbeaten in five games. This is the kind of momentum that Darran Wassall's side need to take into the play-offs, and winning a difficult game against Brighton will add even more confidence to the Derby squad.

Derby have put in some good performances in their last few games, playing some excellent attacking football.

And another good attacking performance will be required to beat a Brighton side who have conceded just one goal in their last three games.

3) Jiri Skalak will be a threat to Derby

Skalak has only scored three goals since joining Brighton in February. He may have only scored three since joining, but all three of those have been in Brighton's last two games, against Charlton and QPR.

His goal at Charlton last Saturday was a beautiful one, in which he sidefooted the ball perfectly into the far top corner.

The Czech Republic international has hit his best form just at the right time, as Brighton have two massive games that if they win both, they'll go up.
