Sky Bet Championship high-flyers Burnley make the short journey across Lancashire to face local rivals Bolton Wanderers, with both clubs enduring different seasons to say the least.

The Clarets are sitting pretty in second place, and looking firmly at securing an immediate return to the Premier League under Sean Dyche.

Bolton on the other hand have had a turbulent season both on and off the field, and they remain second from bottom after securing just four wins all season.

Dyche and his men could well enter the game being four points off top spot, depending on the result in Friday's game between Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday, so it could be that it is a must-win game for them.

Bolton find themselves seven points from safety, and desperately need points on the board if they are to survive, and there could not be a better time to start a winning run than against one of your local rivals.

FootballLeagueWorld writer Lee Connor identifies THREE things to look out for in this afternoon's game...

1) A derby victory to spark a revival?

Bolton need points. Badly.

And what better way to get points on the board than by beating one of your local rivals, all the while putting a dent in their promotion hopes.

It will be a tough ask for Neil Lennon and his troops, but after positive news off the field last week, the players may well take the positive feeling out on the pitch and gain what would be a crucial three points.

If Bolton don't get the win, then by the end of Saturday they could find themselves ten points behind fourth bottom, a gap surely too large to overhaul at this stage.

Lennon will definitely have them fired up for the win, and the time to perform is now if they are going to make a fist of surviving the drop.

2) Burnley to finish February undefeated?

The Clarets have had a hugely successful February, going undefeated and only dropping points in the games at Reading and Sheffield Wednesday.

It is a run which has seen them climb back into the top two places, overhauling Middlesbrough in the race for automatic promotion.

A win for them against their local rivals would round off the month nicely and ensure they enter March firmly in control of their own destiny.

There is nothing better than beating one of your local rivals, and adding promotion and relegation importance into the mix only serves to spice things up further.

3) Zach Clough

The shining light for Bolton and one of few saleable assets they have is Zach Clough.

They managed to keep hold of him during January and he has found his way back into the team of late, producing excellent performances, and leading the line well for the Trotters.

If they are to get a victory over Burnley, then Clough will need to fire and be on form.

Clough is capable of winning a game on his own, as his stunning goal last time out demonstrated, and manager Lennon will be hoping his star man can find a similar piece of magic come Saturday afternoon.
