Sheffield Wednesday host their city rivals Sheffield United in the Steel City Derby on Monday night, in what promises to be a cracking game.

A month or so ago, this game may have been looked at as a guaranteed Sheffield United win, as Wednesday were very poor and seemingly settled for mid table.

While the play-offs look unlikely, Steve Bruce has given Wednesday a new identity and they look a different team already.

Therefore, it will be a very tight game, with Sheffield United looking to make a huge statement in the promotion battle.

If United win, they will remain in the top two regardless of what Leeds and West Brom did.

It is set to be one of the games of the season.

Here, we look at three things to look out for ahead of the big game...

Unlike last time.

It was a bit of a bore fest at Bramall Lane, with Wednesday happy with a point, and Cameron Dawson making a great penalty save.

This time, I think there could be a few goals, like the same fixture last season.

To put it simply, Wednesday fans will take winning this game over any other this season.

In a similar situation to the blue half of Merseyside this weekend who want to stop the red half of their city winning the title, Wednesday will do all they can to prevent United getting promoted.

Therefore, the atmosphere will be rocking like it hasn’t for 18 months or so, we suspect.

Pardon the pun.

This is a huge game for Chris Wilder’s men. If they can get through this, they will be even more confident of getting over the line in May.
