Now under the management of a certain Martin O’Neill, it could be a busy end to the month for Nottingham Forest.

O’Neill has vowed to pull players up for their ‘idiotic’ behaviour and Forest will be Box Office with the 66-year-old in the dugout.

Forest have huge pulling power when it comes to signing players due to their rich history, but a lot of individuals will want to join the club for O’Neill.

With that in mind, we have taken a look at three things that should be monitored at Forest between now and the end of the transfer window.

James McClean arriving from Stoke City

Links to James McClean are not surprising when considering that the midfielder played under O’Neill for Republic of Ireland.

According to Football Insider, Forest are ready to make a move for the Stoke City ace, who has struggled to perform for the Potters during the 2018-19 campaign.

McClean is a player with a lot of Premier League experience, but his form has been under-par for some time now.

Two underperforming stars leaving the club

O’Neill will naturally make changes and his arrival could see Liam Bridcutt and Diogo Goncalves depart before the end of the month. The latter - on loan from Benfica - has struggled badly this term.

It would not be a surprise to see Goncalves sent back to his parent club, whilst Bridcutt is down the pecking order at the City Ground and it seems unlikely that he will be in the plans of O’Neill for the remainder of the season.

The future of Arvin Appiah

According to The Independent, Forest winger Arvin Appiah is attracting interest from a host of Bundesliga clubs.

The 18-year-old is a huge talent, but might not see too much football in the second half of the campaign as O’Neill looks for results.

English youngsters moving to Germany seems to be the popular thing at the moment and Appiah could swap the Championship for the Bundesliga.
