Reading snatched all three points against Blackburn Rovers at the Madejski Stadium on Wednesday evening, in what could prove to be a crucial win.

The Royals are now out of the relegation zone, and Jose Gomes will be hoping this result can kick-start their push up the table.

Reading took the lead in stoppage time of the first-half when John Swift fired home clinically from close range, but they were pegged back when Amari Bell's strike found it's way into the corner with just eight minutes remaining.

But Nelson Oliveira proved to be the hero for the Royals on the night, as he netted a stunning winner with just minutes remaining to spark jubilant scenes amongst supporters.

The Berkshire-based side will be hoping that this result can be something to build on, especially after such a poor first-half of their league campaign.

But what have we learnt about Reading after this crucial win?

Find out below.....

Nelson Oliveira will keep Reading in the Championship

What a hero this man has been since arriving at the club.

He's exactly the type of player that Reading supporters have been crying out for and is showing promising signs.

If he can continue to score goals for the Royals, then he'll definitely keep them in the Championship and they'll definitely be wanting to keep Oliveira at the club on a permanent deal if possible.

Matt Miazga is already looking at home

There will have been huge concern amongst Reading supporters when Tiago Ilori left the club in January, but Miazga has filled the void perfectly.

His cool-head and aerial presence have been impressive since he arrived, and he has formed an excellent partnership in the centre of the Reading defence.

The atmosphere at the Madejski certainly played a part

The atmosphere at the Madejski Stadium certainly isn't one of the best in the Championship at times, but when the Royals are in-form and producing positive results, it's bouncing.

The fans' vocal support certainly played a part in spurring this Reading team on to a crucial win.
