Queens Park Rangers are a side that are yo-yoing up and down the Championship table like crazy.

Under Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink, form has been sporadic and after a 2-0 home defeat to local rivals Brentford, there is a little concern beginning to brew on the Loftus Road paddocks once again.

The Hoops have a squad that is definitely capable of a top-half finish, perhaps even more but at times, their inconsistency has been clear for all to see.

Hasselbaink’s side are only four points away from the drop zone, and with a huge game against Nottingham Forest on the horizon next weekend, things need to get better as soon as possible.

It’s always difficult to pinpoint where a team is going wrong, or everyone would be winning but we’re going to have a go.

So with that in mind, here’s THREE things QPR must do better going forward…

Tighten up at the back

The Hoops have conceded 18 goals in all of their games this campaign and that is quite simply too many.

Games against Blackburn, Birmingham and Burton all spring to mind- matches that all finished 1-1 but could have easily been Hoops wins.

Keeping those clean sheets in defence will be the key to any potential turnaround in form at Loftus Road. Their forwards have goals in them, but the defenders need to keep the goals out too.

Get the best out of Idrissa Sylla

The signing of Guinean forward Idrissa Sylla was a fantastic bit of summer business by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who would be struggling for goals without the burly striker.

He’s only dispatched three times for the Hoops this campaign but watching him play it’s clear there is more to come from the former Anderlecht man.

He holds the ball up fantastically well and really bullies defences going forward. If QPR can get the best out of him, they will enjoy more success this season.

Get the supporters onside

After the Telegraph’s attempted sting on manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, it’s easy to see why some supporters were getting fed up.

Couple that with some bad results on the pitch and you have a fanbase that will only get increasingly frustrated by the week.

If QPR can muddle some sort of a run together with a couple of wins and draws, they will quickly get their fans back onside, which is seriously important.
