Reading boss Paul Clement and his side have come under intense scrutiny after some below-par performances that see the Royals sit 21st in the Championship table, tantalisingly close to the relegation places.

With only two wins in their opening 12 matches, many will argue that the criticism of Clement and his squad are completely justified.

The former Swansea and Derby manager will know that defeat against Millwall after the international break, could be the final nail in the coffin for Clement in what has been a disappointing spell at the Berkshire-based club.

With a lack of fight shown by the Royals in a considerable number of matches this season, and a lack of communication from the club's owners, Reading fans have every reason to be concerned about the club's future.

But what will Clement be mulling over during the international break?

Find out here....

You only have to look at the league table to see what is going wrong with Reading this season. A number of the Reading squad this year, were part of the side that were agonisingly defeated by Huddersfield Town as the Terriers secured promotion to the Premier League.

It does beg the question, what is Clement doing to not get the best out of the current playing squad?

Clement is seen by many as an excellent coach, but his management and his ability to fire-up the under-performing Reading side have come into question.

With Icelandic international Jon Dadi Bodvarsson being the main source of goals this season, Clement will have to consider changing their style to get the best out of the striker.

He is currently being utilised as a lone striker with Sone Aluko and Mo Barrow providing the attacking outlet out wide.

But Clement may be tempted to switch to two up front, with Marc McNulty staking a strong claim for a starting spot after a lively performance against West Brom.

Many Reading supporters have reacted angrily to seeing the likes of under-performing players such as Sone Aluko and Chris Gunter consistently in the starting XI this season.

But Clement seems certain on picking the pair each week, supposedly due to their experience in the squad. It might be time to drop the under-performing pair for the likes of Tyler Blackett and Josh Sims who have rarely featured in the Royals league campaign this season.
