Bristol City have made a promising start to their Championship campaign, of which they narrowly avoided relegation from last term.

However with Lee Johnson at the helm, the Robins certainly look a team on the ascent, after picking up three wins, three losses, and one draw, and sit contently in 13th place after 7 games played.

For many, though, their expectations will be slightly more lofty than a comfortable mid-table finish come the end of the season, and the Reds certainly have enough quality in their side to challenge for the pla-=offs, despite the departure of talisman Jonathan Kodjia to Aston Villa.

The acquisitions of the likes of Lee Tomlin, Gary O'Neil and Callum O'Dowda certainly make up for this loss however, and here, FLW writer George Harbey, identifies THREE things that the Bristolian manager is getting right at Ashton Gate thus far this campaign....

Utilising Tammy Abraham

In what is looking to be perhaps the coup of the summer made by any Championship club this term, the Chelsea loanee has made a phenomenal start to his Bristol City career.

The 18-year-old forward has netted 8 times in 9 games, in all appearances, and has erased Kodjia from many Robins fans' minds already.

Abraham is looking likely to becoming one of the hottest young prospects in English football, and having signed a season-long loan deal at Ashton Gate, he could be the spearhead in City's push for promotion.

Having a mix of youth and experience

Having the right blend of youthful flair, leadership and experience is a fantastic recipe to use for any football club.

And Johnson has made sure that he has followed them guidelines, for instance, the midfield pairing of former Norwich captain Gary O'Neil and Bristol born Bobby Reid has been instrumental for the Robins.

Along with this, having a forward line of Lee Tomlin, Abraham, and Callum O'Dowda, or a back line of Hordur Magnusson alongside Aden Flint, have all worked wonders for the Robins, and they can only grow in confidence and push up the table.

Playing attacking, fast-paced football

Lee Johnson's men have been playing some of the best football in the division, with hungry, young players showing no fear when going forward.

Whenever City get going, they play magnificently, and have shown their capability to dominate a game when they defeated Aston Villa 3-1 at Ashton Gate, after being 1-0 down.

If Johnson can keep his squad of players, and injuries stay amiss, City could be a real force to be reckoned with in this Championship campaign, and could be the dark horses for promotion to the Premier League.

So...What do you think Bristol City fans? Would you agree with these three things that Lee Johnson is getting spot on this year? Is he the right man to take City up and out of the division?
