It's one of the success stories of the season, Charlton Athletic climbing through the ranks and finishing third, then setting up a Wembley final with Sunderland.

On the face of it, there's not a lot to suggest they're underdogs in the third-tier. They've been Premier League in recent memory and are one of the bigger sides in the division. The sold-out Valley was rocking to the sound of 25,000 fans this week, a big attendance for a third-tier club.

However, behind the scenes, there is turmoil and trouble. Roland Duchatelet is driving the club into the ground, starving them of a brighter future. They had to sell their prized asset in January and didn't replace him.

Day to day operations are run on a threadbare staff and there's an impasse as the owner wants to sell, but at an inflated price.

Still, Lee Bowyer and his players have shut that out and got on with the task in hand admirably. They're the form side going into the final, eight wins out of nine behind them before the scintillating game with Doncaster this week,

Lee Bowyer will have a lot to juggle as he approaches the biggest game of his managerial career. Here are three things we think he'll have on his mind this week.

His future

Bowyer is without a contract for the new season and could be taking charge of his final match as Addicks manager.

He's bright, up and coming and has proven himself more than capable of working under very difficult conditions. If they don't get him tied down, he could well end up in the Championship next season anyway, without Charlton.

His players' futures

If he does stay, he's still got to mould a fresh squad as key players such as Joe Aribo and Patrick Bauer are out of contract.

Beat Sunderland and they might be tempted to stay. That's going to be at the back of his mind as they enter this massive game.

The future of the club depends on the right result.

Stopping Sunderland

The Black Cats have scored in all but two of their matches this season, although they've often managed just one or two goals at most.

Charlton will have to ensure they keep the Black Cats chances down to a minimum. They're going to be fired up, Will Grigg desperately needs to write himself into Sunderland history after a tough start.

The scene is set for him to grab the winner, but Bowyer will be plotting a way to stop that happening.
