Gary Rowett's Birmingham City are just one of a handful of Championship sides that have enjoyed a solid start to the new campaign.

Rowett, who joined the club back in October 2014, can be credited with turning the fortunes around at St Andrews - the club were languishing in the relegation zone when the former Burton man took over.

It's looking good this season too for the Blues, who have started well and sit fifth in the league, with twelve points from seven games.

A 0-0 draw away at Reading on Tuesday evening was another decent display which is sure to increase the confidence amongst the Blues faithful.

And following their good start, here at the Football League World, we want to have a look at exactly why it's been so good for Birmingham at the start of this campaign.

So with that in mind, here's THREE things Gary Rowett is getting right at Birmingham so far this season...

A balance of man-management

If there's one thing Gary Rowett has brought to the table both in this season and the entirety of last, it's his ability to man-manage his players in the right way.

He's firm enough to admit when things aren't right but he won't lambaste players in interview.

There have been individual issues with some members of the squad but he's dealt with them professionally and aptly when needed.

It's this sort of management that gets respect from players.

Bringing in good players

Lukas Jutkiewicz

If there is one thing Blues fans were worried about going into the new season, it was a lack of firepower going forward.

Blues completely ran out of ideas towards the end of last season and surrendered an excellent chance to get in the play-offs with a post-February slump.

But credit Rowett with his summer business- all of his additions from Lukas Jutkiewicz to Rhoys Wiggins will add depth to the squad where needed.

No unnecessary spending, just solid additions to improve a squad that has started extremely well already this season.

Rotation

As we've just mentioned in the previous slide, Rowett has added to his squad very impressively this summer and his rotation at the start of the campaign has been good too.

Clayton Donaldson was rested for the majority of the game against Reading whilst Rhoys Wiggins is still being kept away from the first-team to build up his fitness.

Rowett has ensured Greg Stewart will get his opportunity following his summer move from Dundee whilst Adam Legzdins played well in goal after coming in last-minute.

They're all good signs from a manager who is looking take his side places this season.
