3 things Garry Monk will be mulling over about Birmingham during international break
Birmingham City are finding form in the Championship having made a solid yet unspectacular start to their season.
After battling relegation last term and struggling to make signing in the summer due to factors such as Financial Fair Play and transfer embargoes, they were left with a weak squad and little hope of success this season.
But after clinching only their second league win of the campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over Rotherham United at the weekend, Garry Monk’s men remain unbeaten in their previous eight league outings, and sit in 17th place after twelve league outings.
Whilst they haven’t been tearing teams apart or troubling the top six, they’ve looked organised and solid at the back, which teams often take for granted at this level.
Who knows how the Blues will get on this season? Under Monk they have a manager who knows how to avoid defeat and will get the most out of his players, and it will be interesting to see how they end up.
