Preston have had an inconsistent season where they have failed to get any big runs of form going.

Alex Neil has done a great job at the Deepdale club, and play-offs are not unattainable, despite looking unlikely.

They have a tough run-in and the fixtures against the sides above them could define their chances.

Here, we look at three things that Neil must take into account and consider ahead of their run in.

Do you agree with us, or is there something we have missed that he must consider? Let us know in the comments section below.

Is the top six one step too far?

Preston enter this weekend 12th in the table, so play-offs are certainly attainable, but probably one step too far.

This is something Neil will be considering over the course of the next month or so, and how he can rebuild for next year.

How can we improve next season?

Whether its in the transfer market, or a change of tactics, Neil will want to improve next season, and he will use the remainder of the season to assess this.

Can we have a say in the title race?

With fixtures against Leeds and Sheffield United in the next month, Neil will be relishing the chance of having something to say in the title race.

If he can guide his team to at least one victory in those games, it would certainly lift the confidence around Deepdale.
