Bolton fans are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel as they slowly edge towards reaching the zero points mark in League One.

The Trotters were forced to field a number of their young players during the early stages of this year's league campaign, which resulted in some heavy defeats.

They've since signed a number of senior players, which has resulted in an improvement in performances on the pitch.

But one of the club's younger players seems to have caught the eye with his showings so far in the season, with Dennis Politic emerging as a transfer target for Aston Villa according to Football Insider.

Football Insider have now claimed that Wolves have entered the race to sign the Bolton winger ahead of the January transfer window.

We look at THREE things Politic must weigh up as interest in his services continues to grow.

Wolves or Aston Villa?

Both clubs have looked impressive in the Premier League this season and will be confident of staying in the top-flight for years to come.

Wolves have had an impressive setup since Nuno Espírito Santo took charge of the club, and he's already shown that he's willing to give young players a chance in cup competitions.

But a move to Aston Villa shouldn't be ruled out, as they've looked like a strong team that can compete with any of the so-called 'big teams' in the top-flight.

Politic will have to weigh up his next move carefully, as it could decide which direction his career heads in.

Moving too soon?

For any young player, it's important that you don't rush into a rash decision over your future.

If a player makes the wrong call, then their development in senior football could take a real hit, which is the worst possible scenario for any footballer.

Politic might be tempted by a move to the Premier League, but he can't afford to run the risk of not playing regularly at senior level.

He should be waiting for another season or two before even contemplating moving away from Bolton.

He needs more experience in senior football

As previously mentioned, Politic has made () appearances so far this season for the Bolton first-team, and he's looked like a real talent going forward.

Out of the young players that have featured for Keith Hill's side this term, Politic has been the standout individual, and it won't come as a surprise to hear that more reputable clubs are keeping tabs on him.

But it seems highly unlikely that he'll be playing for Wolves' or Aston Villa's first-team anytime soon, and would have to be content with under 23's football for the time being.

Politic has already shown that he can play at senior level, and would surely feel as though a loan spell elsewhere would be better suited to him instead of a permanent move to a Premier League club.
