Birmingham City continued their fine recent form with a 2-1 victory over Luton Town this weekend to move to within two points of the play-off places.

Whilst the result is obviously the most important thing, Blues are playing some really good football and they look very strong.

The win against the Hatters was a fifth from seven on their own patch, meaning they now boast the second best home record in the Championship and maintaining that will be crucial if the are to sustain a top six push.

As Blues fans will tell you, picking up points at St. Andrew's hasn't always been easy but Pep Clotet has got off to a fantastic start and here we look at THREE things this side have done to make it a fortress...

They've got the fans on side

Even though the ground isn't as full as it perhaps should be, more fans are turning up to games now and they are supporting the team from the off.

It can be a very hostile venue when everyone is pulling in the same direction and that's what is happening now.

There's a real feel-good factor around the club and if they can keep it up then excitement will build.

They play with intent

Following on from that, Clotet is building a side that wants to play and go at teams.

Garry Monk got good results with Birmingham but it wasn't always good to watch, with the Spaniard working on building a side that look to attack.

And, it's paying off, with the fans appreciating the way the team play with purpose.

They never give up

Finally, there's a real spirit about the group right now.

They have won plenty of points from behind at home this season, including scoring a late winner on Saturday, so this is a group that never know they're beaten.
