Norwich were relegated from the Premier League last season finishing 19th with fans mainly attributing their failure to poor transfer business.

They showed a lack of ambition in their signings with Robbie Brady and Steven Naismith the pick of them.

Norwich were poor going forward owing to the fact they have a lack of depth up front with Cameron Jerome blatantly not good enough for the Premier League. They scored just 39 goals with Nathan Redmond and loan striker Dieumerci Mbokani starring whilst midfielders Jonny Howson and Wes Hoolahan also contributed.

Ultimately it wasn't enough and 67 goals conceded cost them dearly with Russel Martin and Sebastian Bassong struggling in the Premier League.

When they were relegated Alex Neil remained in charge and has done some good transfer business bringing in exciting attacking midfielders like Sergi Canos and Alex Pritchard. Also striker Nelson Oliviera came in from Benfica after impressing for Nottingham Forest the season before.

Norwich did suffer some big losses though such as star midfielder Nathan Redmond leaving for Southampton.

Norwich have started well with 4 wins from 7 games but they have suffered an embarrassing defeat to Birmingham. Here are THREE mistakes Alex Neil has made so far:

Canos and Pritchard

pritchardd

Canos and Pritchard have proved there worth in the Championship at different times whilst on loan at Brentford. Pritchard spent the 14/15 season on loan at the Bees and was in magnificent form scoring 12 goals in 45 games and was named in the Team of the Year.

It seemed he was going to have a big year for Tottenham but an injury at the start of the season limited his chances and he had to settle with a drab loan spell at West Brom. Plenty of Championship and Premier League sides were interested in permanently signing him and Norwich snuck in ahead of Brighton to seal his signature. His pace and dead ball ability makes him deadly in this division and Neil should use him more and the same goes for Canos.

Canos is only 19-years-old and is a quick attacking player as good as Pritchard scoring 7 goals for Brentford last season including a wonder goal against Reading.

They only have one start between them and they need more of a push by Neil if Norwich are to be more creative.

Howson out of position

Jonny Howsond

Something we have seen from Neil is that Jonny Howson is being played as a right winger to accommodate Graham Dorrans as a centre mid.

Howson was Norwich Player of the Year last season and if Neil and Norwich want to get the best out of him it would be a wiser decision to play Howson at centre mid and drop Dorrans.

Dorrans isn't as good as Tettey anyway and certainly not as good as Howson so it may be better for Norwich if Dorrans is dropped. Pritchard or Canos could then play on the right wing, probably more suited to Canos and then play Howson in central midfield and keep Dorrans as cover.

Defensive frailties

Timm Klose

In the two recent games Norwich have looked worryingly shaky at the back especially on Saturday against Cardiff. They were comfortable against Cardiff but ended up edging it 3-2 and the Wigan goal last week had fans on tenterhooks but they held on to win.

It seems the time has passed for Russel Martin in defence with Timm Klose and Ryan Bennett taking over as the main defensive partnership as this is when Norwich are strongest at the back.

Martin and Bassong were awful last season and are unlikely to get near the team this season and the same goes for Whitaker, with Pinto excellent at right back. Martin won Man of the Match on Saturday but was at fault for 2 goals and Pinto deserved it more.
