It's looking like it's going to be an extremely nervy transfer window for Aston Villa, with a host of high-profile clubs circling around top goalscorer Tammy Abraham.

The latest transfer report, from reliable journalist Alan Nixon, suggests that Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to make a "massive bid" for the 21-year old, who is currently one of the leading goalscorers in the Sky Bet Championship.

Abraham has been influential for Villa since his loan arrival from Chelsea - the forward has scored 16 goals in 21 matches for Dean Smith's men, who will be praying that the club keep hold of their star-man.

Knowing how much money Wolves spent on their recruitment in the summer, however, Villa could be dealt a monumental blow in their hopes of keeping Abraham - and they need to be thinking of a "plan B".

With the club sitting five points off the play-offs with just one win in their last six games, here, we take a look at three Tammy Abraham replacements that Aston Villa must be considering ASAP...

A no-brainer as far as Dean Smith is concerned.

Maupay has been in magnificent form for a struggling Brentford side this season - the Frenchman has scored 15 goals and produced 6 assists for the Bees, despite their drop down the table since Smith's departure.

After recently refusing to rule out a reunion with Smith in the future, Villa should definitely be fancying their chances with this one with Abraham does go and leave...

Having been linked with a move away from the Riverside Stadium in January, Britt Assombalonga could be a shrewd signing for Villa.

He isn't having the greatest of campaigns by his standards, having scored just 6 goals in 23 games, and has been linked with move away from the North East club in January.

If you can play to his strengths, Assombalonga can be a huge threat at Championship level, and Villa could look to take a chance on the 26-year old.

The final option is perhaps the most riskiest, but Josh Maja could be a perfect signing for Villa.

The 20-year old has scored 15 goals in 28 games for Sunderland this season, and has been imperative in their push for promotion from League One.

With the forward yet to agree a new deal with the Black Cats, Dean Smith should look to pounce on this one...
