With the January window almost upon us, there are a high number of football clubs that will be looking to bring in players to strengthen the group and also offload players to the right buyer.

QPR striker Charlie Austin has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League after impressing in the top flight with the R's last season.

Austin was on the brink of joining Newcastle United in the summer before a disagreement in the player's true valuation placed a spanner in the works, and a potential move to West Ham didn’t gain traction after club chairman David Sullivan made comments about Austin’s injuries.

Austin’s contract expires in the summer, which means his current market value will start depreciating as a result. Therefore QPR may be prepared to listen to offers in January to get Austin off the books, preventing the forward from leaving on a free.

Austin has scored seven goals in 12 appearances for the West London club this season, and would be an asset for any Premier League club, especially the ones struggling to put the ball in the back of the net.

In a financial sense, QPR would probably prefer to bring in a replacement to help fire them to the Premier League.

We look at THREE replacements QPR could turn to if a deal to offload Austin was completed.......

Adam Le Fondre

le fondre

Adam Le Fondre is a clinical finisher with Premier League goal scoring experience.

During Le Fondre’s time at Reading, Le Fondre hit the net a total number of 14 Premier League goals, scoring against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton which clearly outlines his knack of finding the net.

Although the 28-year-old has scored just three times this season in 16 appearances whilst on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers from Cardiff City, but will be looking to improve on this figure before re-joining the Bluebirds at the end of his loan.

Prior to making the move to Wolves on loan, the former Premier League goal scorer found the net 11 times in 42 appearances in all competitions, which weren’t what anyone at the club expected.

Despite his current career dip in goals, there is no doubting his eye for a goal and at the correct club Le Fondre could thrive.

Could that club be Queens Park Rangers?

Ross McCormack

mccormack9922

29-year-old Ross McCormack is a Championship goal scoring expert, after successful goal scoring spells in the second tier with Cardiff City, Leeds United and currently Fulham but has never played in the top flight.

With the Scot nearing the latter stages of his career, he will surely be desperate to play in the Premier League and QPR could be the ideal club for McCormack to reach this milestone.

The Scottish international is currently third in the Sky Bet Championship’s top scorers table, with a total of nine league goals behind Nick Blackman and Andre Gray

During his time at Cardiff City the 29-year-old scored 25 goals in 74 appearances, and scored 58 goals in 154 appearances during his time at Leeds.

Maybe it’s now time McCormack was taken to the Premier League and he could be the man to help QPR go straight back up following their relegation.

Moussa Dembele

Moussa Dembele

French teenager Dembele, only started his first full season as a professional footballer this season and is still being heavily linked to a multitude of top European teams, including Bayern Munich.

The in-demand forward sits a place below McCormack in the Championship goal scorers table with eight goals this season, despite Fulham’s disappointing league position.

A move to Championship QPR could be an attractive proposition for the 19-year-old because he may feel that a move to a higher club could restrict his progress, whilst QPR would allow him to develop whilst playing for a team higher up the table with the potential for promotion.
