Michael O’Neill will be hoping that he can further strengthen his squad before the end of the transfer window, with the Potters having already secured the signing of Jordan Thompson from Blackpool.

The Northern Irishman will be looking to potentially add some further creativity to his side in the last week of the window, as he looks to continue Stoke’s recent improvement which continued with an impressive 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.

The Potters will also be looking to keep hold of some of their key players during the final week of the window, after O’Neill has already trimmed his squad with the departures of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Ryan Woods, Badou Ndiaye and Peter Etebo.

Here then, we take a look at THREE transfer scenarios to watch out for at Stoke as Deadline Day approaches…

Tyrese Campbell’s potential exit

Campbell highlighted his increasing importance to the Potters with his well taken goal against West Brom on Monday night, which gave Stoke a vital three points which has lifted them four points clear of the bottom three – and the forward despite coming off with a knock in the first half showed he has the ability to start up front for O’Neill’s side.

The forward has had to wait for his chance to earn a starting place in his natural centre forward position, with O’Neill playing him from the right-hand side over the last few weeks – and given Campbell is out of contract in the summer he will likely be looking for assurances over his long-term future in that position before signing a new deal.

The likes of Rangers, Celtic and Sheffield United have all been linked with moves for the forward between now and the end of the window, and it will be interesting to see whether any of those make firm offers for the striker in the coming days, with the Potters clearly keen on keeping hold of him.

Joe Allen’s potential departure

Another important member of O’Neill’s side who could yet potentially leave the club before the end of the window is Joe Allen, with the midfielder being linked with a move to Premier League West Ham United throughout the month.

Allen has really found some consistency in his form since O’Neill took charge of the Potters, after struggling at times earlier on in the season, and the midfielder will be a crucial part of the Northern Irishman’s plans for the rest of the campaign as he looks to guide the club to safety.

The midfielder, though, is already proven in the Premier League, and there remains the chance that West Ham could come in with an offer that the Potters find too good to turn down before the end of the transfer window – and losing Allen would be a blow for O’Neill’s side with time running out to replace him.

Stoke bringing in Jordan Jones

One key addition that the Potters could make in the final week of the transfer window is bringing Jordan Jones in from Rangers, with the winger having been linked with a move to the Bet365 Stadium, as O’Neill looks to add to his options in the wide areas.

O’Neill knows all about the qualities that Jones could bring to his side, having coached the winger whilst in charge of the Northern Ireland national team, and Stoke could potentially benefit from Jones’ direct running and ability to create space for others in the attacking third were he to join.

Jones has been limited to just four appearances in the league for Rangers so far this term, so would likely to be open to a move away so he can go and get some regular minutes during the rest of the campaign, which could help the Potters secure his signature before the deadline.
