Millwall are four without a win and outside the relegation zone on goal difference ahead of their weekend clash against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

After such a fine campaign last time out, not many would've predicted that the Lions would be in a relegation battle but that appears to be the case now.

A key reason for that has been several players not hitting the heights they did last season, with the experienced Steve Morison one of those struggling.

The 35-year-old has only managed one goal in 17 games and hasn't been near his influential best.

Therefore, Neil Harris has to be thinking about bringing in a new number nine in the New Year to partner Lee Gregory and give the side more goals to help their survival push.

Here we look at THREE potential options out there for the Londoners...

With Lewis Grabban flying and Karim Ansarifard now second choice, game time is going to be very hard to come by for the experienced Irishman.

At his age, he may be looking for regular football and that would come at The Den.

Murphy would suit the direct style that Millwall play and has proven himself to be more reliable in front of goal than Morison over the years.

Having sold George Saville for big money in the summer, Harris will hope that he can invest in January and Madine would be a big purchase for the club.

Realistically, a loan is more likely for the out-of-favour Cardiff man, but he is another who suits the Lions style of play.

Again, he is proven at this level and he would have the goals that take Millwall up the table.

A different option would be Derby's Nugent, another who isn't getting the minutes he would like.

The former Preston man is a goalscorer, though, and that's what Harris' men are lacking.

He would be the main man at The Den and having someone with his ability in front of goal could be vital in the run-in.
