After an outstanding season at The City Ground, it is little surprise to see that, Nottingham Forest have placed a £15million price tag on midfielder Joe Lolley, according to The Sun on Sunday (02/06,p59).

Lolley's performances this season have seen him crowned Forest's Player of the Season, so it is no surprise that Forest are keen to keep hold of their key man as they look to push for a promotion to the Premier League next season.

That, however, may be difficult, with Sky Sports reporting that Lolley's recently promoted boyhood club Aston Villa are interested in signing the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window.

With four years remaining on his contract at The City Ground, Forest are in no need to sell Lolley anytime soon, hence the size of the price tag they have placed on Lolley.

But is Lolley worth the £15million valuation? Here, Football League World puts the spotlight on the midfielder to find out.

Across the course of the season, Lolley's attacking threat has been crucial to Forest.

Having found the net 11 times this season, Lolley ended the season second in Forest's goalscoring charts, with only striker Lewis Grabban (16) netting more times for Forest this season, while Lolley is up there with the very best in the division in a number of other attacking aspects this season.

The midfielder's average of 2.4 dribbles per game was matched only by Brentford's Said Benhrama across the whole division, while Lolley's tally of 11 assists was the joint fifth highest in the league, with three players averaged more shots per game than the midfielder.

The 26-year-old was also comfortably inside the top twenty for average key passes per game, making him Forest's top performer in all of those categories.

With Forest's clear determination to make it to the Premier League as soon as possible, their valuation as Lolley becomes all the more understandable. The stats show just how important Lolley will be to Forest again next season, so it makes perfect sense to make sure they get their money's worth for Lolley, given just how much the promotion he could be crucial in helping them to would be worth to the club.
