Ahead of Saturday afternoon's clash with Ipswich Town, Preston North End had enjoyed an impressive week, taking points off Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa.

Many observers might have expected them to boost their promotion push with a home win over Mick McCarthy's side but in actual fact it was the Tractor Boys who got the victory.

That triumph moved Ipswich into a position to make a surprise play-off push as they are now just six points off the top six and one man who would be key in that is Mustapha Carayol.

He netted the winner on Saturday with an impressive run and finish, showcasing his pace that we have not seen often enough in this country.

The wideman is the next to be put under the FLW spotlight as we look at just how good he was on Saturday afternoon...

Seven dribbles, three shots and a goal is a brilliant return from a winger and McCarthy will be over the moon if he can replicate that regularly between now and the end of the season.

50 per cent pass rate is not brilliant but one key pass from just 46 minutes shows that he is trying things. Sometimes they will come off and sometimes they won't, but if he keeps his confidence high, there's no reason why he can't find the back of the net more often between now and the end of the season.
