There isn't a lot to shout about in Ipswich at the moment, two draws, two defeats and a penalties cup exit against Exeter paint a picture of a miserable start for Paul Hurst.

There have been bright spots, the 2-2 draw with Blackburn showed fighting spirit and the defeats have come against Aston Villa and Derby who both finished in the top six last season.

There's also the early season form of Chelsea loanee Trevoh Chalobah. He's settled in at Portman Road quickly, marshalling the midfield last night in their 2-0 defeat.

He was in the thick of the action too, so FLW have decided to shine a spotlight on his performance for the Tractor Boys.

He played all ninety minutes in front of Luke Chambers and Toto Nsiala, looking to keep stem any flowing attacks through the middle of the park.

He made two tackles during the game, also winning seven aerial duels which may point towards Derby's approach as much as his own contribution.

Perhaps, for a player in that role, he might have liked to make a few more challenges.

Usually a right-footed centre back, Chalobah was in relatively unfamiliar territory, but the license to get further forward resulted in three shots and three successful dribbles. Perhaps Hurst has hit upon a position that the U19 European Championship winner hasn't previously seen a lot of action in.

The 19-year old got on the ball when he could, making 43 passes although the success rate wasn't the best. 67% of those were successful, which when mirrored with Joe Ledley on the opposite team doesn't stand up well. Then again, Ledley has 12 years experience on the Chelsea man.

The youngster certainly put himself about, showed willingness to get on the ball and tried to affect the game where he could. In flashes, he looked impressive, perhaps time spent in the new position will help him develop into an even better prospect than he already is.
