Bryan Mbeumo fired Brentford to a 1-0 victory at home to Fulham in the Championship at the weekend, as the Frenchman continues his fine form in-front of goal.

Thomas Frank's Brentford moved up to 4th in the Championship table with their fourth-straight win at Griffin Park on Saturday, Mbeumo with his eighth of the season - he's now scored in Brentford's last four games.

Mbeumo, 20, fired home from close-range midway through the first-half as the Bees put in another quality all-round performance against Fulham, who went into the game in 3rd.

Parker's side dropped to 6th though with their third-straight defeat in the Championship whilst Brentford moved three places up to 4th.

Brentford have now won eight of their last 11 games in the Championship and have quickly asserted themselves as play-off contenders from almost nowhere - Frank's side started the season dismally and looked set for a tough season in the bottom-half of the table.

But Brentford look as good as they have done since arriving in the Championship back in 2014 and with their brand new stadium just around the corner, they could well be opening it with the club's first-ever Premier League fixture.

If that's to be a possibility then Frank will need Mbeumo to continue his prolific form in the Championship.

Little was thought of the Frenchman when he arrived in the summer and after a slow start to match his side's early form, he's quickly become one of the team's more important players, and a key component of what makes Brentford's front-three so feared in the Championship.

Goals are only half of Mbuemo's game though - against a good, attacking team in Fulham, Mbeumo made two tackles and two clearances as he did his defensive bit, and proved a creative force too with two key passes and two completed dribbles.

Mbeumo's proving to be another shrew summer signing from Frank and Bees fans are loving him - his work-rate, eye for goal and exciting demeanour on the pitch has made him a hit at Griffin Park and at 20-years-old, he could have a long and successful future at the club.
