Sheffield Wednesday have climbed back up the table in recent weeks as Carlos Carvalhal's men currently occupy a position within the play-off places.

The Owls have a reasonably large squad at their disposal, a squad which will no doubt be hoping that they can push for promotion this campaign.

Within the extensive roster at Hillsborough, there are some players who are unsurprisingly valued very highly due to their brilliant performances in recent years.

Fernando Forestieri is a perfect example of this with a £4.25m market valuation, according to Transfermarkt, all thanks to his consistent performances and his prolific nature.

However, at the other end of the spectrum there are some players whose value sits lower than many would expect, and over the following three pages, Tom Rawcliffe will highlight three of these.

With that in mind, here are THREE Sheffield Wednesday player valuations to surprise you.

Kieran Lee

Defensive midfielder Kieran Lee has been at the club since 2012 and has been an integral part of the team ever since his arrival.

His consistently impressive performances have made him a fan's favourite at Hillsborough and his absence from the team is always noticed.

With the outstanding performances we see so often from the 28-year-old it is somewhat surprising that his reported market value is a relatively low £638k.

Having said that, if a team was to come in with an offer of that value for the former Manchester United midfielder then it is very unlikely that it would be accepted.

Keiren Westwood

Another man who has been a key figure in recent years for The Owls is goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.

The Republic of Ireland international has excelled during his time at Hillsborough and he is thought of as the best 'keeper in the league by many fans up and down the country.

Westwood has helped his side to keep a respectable 36 clean sheets during his three seasons with the Yorkshire giants, contributing to the team gaining a play-off place last season.

Despite his renowned quality, Transfermarkt labels his market value as just £1.28m which is a large amount of money in most cases but considering the quality that Westwood has, you would certainly expect him to be valued higher.

Sam Hutchinson

Another player who also seems to be undervalued is the very versatile Sam Hutchinson.

The former Chelsea player has occupied a position of a deep-lying midfielder for the majority of his career, but this season he has been used exclusively as a centre-back.

He is a player who is rated very highly at Hillsborough but his market value of £425k certainly doesn't match his performances, with it being significantly lower than you would have expected.
