Sheffield United are preparing to embark on a 6th season in League One with yet another new manager, as Chris Wilder will try to do what those before him have failed to do and deliver promotion.

The Blades on paper last season looked to have the best squad, but a mix of poor form, poor attitudes, and a squad which eventually turned out to be too big, cost them big time.

Next season will be a crucial one for the Blades and their fans. Wilder has brought with him some passion, and the United fans seem to be on board with what he is trying to do.

He will no doubt be active in the transfer market as he looks to strengthen the first team, but he must also ensure he makes the best of what he has in the current squad.

With this in mind, here are THREE Sheffield United players to watch out for next season....

Mark Duffy

The new signing will be very keen to lay down a marker during his first season at Bramall Lane and will be keen to build on the form which he showed for Burton last season.

The winger is exactly what Sheffield United needed and Wilder was quick to add him to the ranks when he took over.

Duffy appears like he has a point to prove at a big club after things didn't quite work out at Birmingham, and he will be hoping he can create the chances for the likes of Billy Sharp to feed on.

John Brayford

After returning from a serious injury last term, Brayford never really hit the heights he had done the previous season.

However, with a full pre-season under his belt and a new manager to impress, many will be hoping Brayford can get right back to his best form.

On his day he is one of the top players in the league, and he will be pivotal if Sheffield United are to mount any sort of promotion charge next season.

Marc McNulty

McNulty

This is a stranger selection than some might have expected, but having returned from a loan spell with Portsmouth, it appears Wilder is set to give McNulty a chance again.

McNulty did ok under previous manager Nigel Clough but clearly wasn't fancied by Nigel Adkins.

However, a lot of fans have called for him to be given a chance given the clubs struggles in front of goal and they will be hoping he can hit the ground running and take a bit of the weight off Billy Sharp's shoulders.
