Despite there being just 10 games left in the 2018/19 Championship campaign, West Bromwich Albion are on the hunt for a new manager after parting company with Darren Moore.

The Baggies' hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League have took a major blow in recent weeks after defeats to the teams around them in Leeds United and Sheffield United.

Albion have slipped to 4th place in the table, nine points off the top two, and Moore's fate was surprisingly sealed after being held to a 1-1 home draw against bottom side Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

The sacking has split decisions right down the middle amongst the Hawthorns faithful, but the club now needs to move on, with reports claiming that David Wagner and Slavisa Jokanovic are on the club's radar.

The latter would be a preferred managerial candidate for plenty of Championship clubs after the job he did at Fulham, and here, we take a look at three reasons why hiring the 50-year old would be a very smart move by West Brom...

Ultimately, one thing that Jokanovic has that Moore doesn't, is experience, and experience of getting out of the Championship.

He has been promoted twice in his managerial career, guiding Watford to automatic promotion and taking Fulham up via the play-offs last term.

This can only help the club in the final run-in of the campaign.

With automatic promotion looking to be out of the picture for Albion now, the play-offs looks to be the only way that West Brom will be promoted.

Jokanovic is no stranger to the lottery of the play-offs, three games that require calm heads and composure which is, again, something that Jokanovic has experience of doing.

He took his Fulham side to Wembley last season, and handled the game very well against Aston Villa, albeit with a man down thanks to a Denis Odoi red card.

West Brom's team is blessed with talented attacking players, and it comes as no surprise to learn that they are currently the top scorers in the Championship.

Jokanovic would be the perfect manager for the Baggies - his Fulham side were known for playing magnificent football last season, and his brand of football is something that the West Brom players would thrive in.
