West Brom are interested in Okay Yokuslu as Steve Bruce looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

The Baggies have enjoyed a productive window so far, with the additions of John Swift and Jed Wallace seen as real coups for the Championship side.

And, despite Bruce cooling talks of signing Yokuslu earlier this month, it has been reported that Albion have held positive talks with the former loanee about bringing him back to the club on a permanent basis.

The Turkey international is available on a free transfer after leaving Celta Vigo and here we outline THREE reasons why West Brom must do all they can to land the 28-year-old...

He has qualities they need

Firstly, and most importantly, Yokuslu would be a great addition because of the qualities he has.

Albion are in need of a defensive midfielder who can win the ball, which is what Yokuslu does. His determination, aggression and steel in the middle of the park would be very welcome and fill a hole in the squad.

Bruce has already confirmed he wants a new option in that area, and Yokuslu fits the bill.

He is available on a free

Everyone knows that Albion aren't going to be splashing out serious cash, but they've proven with the signings of Swift and Wallace that you can still pick up quality players on a free.

Obviously, Yokuslu is going to command a decent wage but financially you would think it's a deal that the club can do.

From a football perspective it's a no-brainer and he should also be within their financial limits.

It will go down well with the fans

You would never expect the club to sign a player because the fans want him but it's an added bonus in this scenario.

Despite the good start to the window, there is understandably still a lot of frustration and anger at how the club have been run.

Of course, one new signing doesn't change all of that but bringing Yokuslu in will lift spirits ahead of the season and will give everyone more confidence that promotion is a realistic target.
