Leeds United are likely to lose manager Marcelo Bielsa at the end of the season if they fail to secure promotion to the Premier League.

That's according to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay, who revealed to the Inside Elland Road podcast that he can't see the Argentinian staying for another year in the Championship.

The ex-Marseille boss arrived in the summer and was a major coup for the Whites, and he has delivered so far.

He has turned a side that finished in the bottom half last season into contenders for the title and has done so playing some great football.

Obviously, everyone connected to the club will hope this leads to promotion, and it certainly could. However, it's by no means guaranteed with plenty of clubs in the mix.

Therefore, he could well be off in the summer following Hay's update and here we look at three reasons it should worry supporters...

If Bielsa does depart then Leeds are going to have to start all over again.

Part of the attraction of the Argentinian is the unique way he operates from the attention to detail on the opposition to the style of play.

He runs everything on the playing side, so it's not a case of getting someone in to carry on the good work he's done - because there's not many out there like him!

Another worry would be that things aren't really going to get any better if he leaves.

As mentioned, it was a massive coup for the Yorkshire side to attract Bielsa because he is a coach respected across the world.

They wouldn't be able to bring in a coach of a similar calibre.

[snack_break title="His popularity with the fans"]

Finally, it would be disappointing for fans to see Bielsa depart.

In recent years no coach has had the impact the Argentine has, with his popularity around the city of Leeds no secret.

Should he depart after just 12 months, supporters will be gutted.
