With rumours emerging from AS Argentina that Leeds are set to make a bid for Tottenham's young defender, Juan Foyth, would the move suit both parties involved if it was to go ahead?

It may seem like Leeds don't need anymore additions to their current squad but with their injury worries in defence, Foyth could certainly be an option to consider for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Foyth is to make a league appearance for Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham side since his move to the club in 2017.

He has made eight appearances during his time at the club, but with those appearances only being in cup matches, the youngster will be keen to make a loan move elsewhere in order to pursue regular first-team football.

Bielsa's side travel to Ewood Park to face Tony Mowbray's Blackburn side in what is sure to be a tightly-contested match between the two sides.

We look at the reasons why Foyth would be a good addition to Bielsa's team.

Find out those reasons here....

The youngster is unproven in English football which could go one of two ways for Leeds if they were to sign him.

If he struggles to adapt to the English game, then he could cost Leeds vital points that they will need in their promotion chasing season.

If he does successfully adapt, then Foyth will be a force to be reckoned with in the Championship this season and will be keen to recapture the form that he had shown in order for Spurs to sign him in 2017.

The centre back would add vital depth to the Leeds defence this season.

They have suffered a number of injuries to their back-line this season and Foyth could add extra cover to the defence which will be a huge help to Bielsa when his side have a number of fixtures to fulfil in a short space of time.

At the age of 20, Foyth will be after regular first-team football, in which he currently isn't getting at the Premier League side at the moment.

For Foyth to fulfil his potential, he will need to be playing as much football at a competitive level as possible in the early stages of his career.
