Second behind Barnet's John Akinde in the race to be top goalscorer in League Two, Grimsby Town's Omar Bogle has lit up the division since The Mariners' promotion to the Football League last season.

The 23-year-old has been exceptional for Grimsby so far this season and will have no doubt caught the eye of a number of teams across the Football League.

Bogle has already netted 14 times this season and if he continues to keep scoring it will surely only be a matter of time before he moves higher up the leagues.

He has proven that he can make the step up from non-league to the football league and the hit man just can't stop scoring.

Grimsby fans are surely resigned to losing Bogle at some point in the near future and January might just be the time they say goodbye.

A team like Leeds United would be the perfect move for Bogle.

Although Leeds do have Chris Wood in their attack, Bogle could be the prolific goalscorer that they need to help fire them to the next level.

So here are three reasons why Omar Bogle is perfect for Leeds United...

Goalscorer

Bogle is already displaying the attributes of a natural goalscorer in League Two this season.

His style of play and his development is somewhat similar to the likes of Dwight Gayle and Britt Assombalonga, two of the best goalscorers in the Championship who have both proved themselves in the lower tiers of the Football League before making the move higher up.

The 23-year-old has a knack of being at the right place at the right time and could arguably score goals at whatever level he plays at.

A natural goalscorer would be perfect for Leeds United who need that option in their attacking arsenal.

In Chris Wood, Leeds boss Garry Monk has one of the best strikers in the league - a striker who is proven at Championship level and is a strong player to have leading your attack.

However, by signing Omar Bogle, it would bring something completely different to the team.

As well as his ability to hold up play, use his strength and be physical like Wood, Bogle is very mobile and could get in behind the defence.

With Wood, Leeds do not have this option at the minute and it could be what they are missing.

Pressure

If Leeds do make the play-offs this season, having a striker like Bogle would improve their chances of success.

Admittedly, it is not quite the Championship play-off final, but the 22-year-old fired Grimsby to League Two last season at Wembley when he scored two in their play-off final victory last season.

Bogle would not let the big occasion faze him and he has already made his mark in League Two this season, suddenly becoming one of the most dangerous strikers in the league.

He has not been put off by making the step up to the football league and he keeps scoring goals despite constant media attention so it shows he has a good mentality.

Having some experience of success and being a key part of it can only be a good thing for Leeds United should they make a move for him.
