Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is attracting interest from Arsenal after his fantastic start to the season.

That's according to Football Insider, who claim that the centre-back is on the radar of the Gunners and they could make a move for the player in January as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

Worrall has established himself as one of the best in the division this season, with Sabri Lamouchi's appointment transforming the player.

The 22-year-old spent the previous campaign at Rangers but he is now an integral member of the Reds side that is currently in the play-off places.

So, even though it may be tough, we look at THREE reasons why Forest must do all they can to resist any approach from Arsenal in the New Year...

They are pushing for promotion

Firstly, and most importantly, Forest are finally in a position where it appears they can win promotion to the Premier League.

We all know the financial benefits of reaching the top-flight, so you could argue it would make no sense to cash in right now.

It could send out the wrong message

Losing the centre-back could also send the wrong message to the rest of the squad that Forest aren't serious about trying to win promotion.

Worrall seems like an influential player in the squad and his exit would be a big loss in the changing room too.

It will anger the fans

Following on from that, the support would lose faith.

Forest are a big club with big expectations and whilst that's a positive on the whole, it does bring an extra pressure and creates tension at times.

That would increase if Worrall went as everyone is so desperate for promotion.
