After his impressive season with Derby so far, it's no real surprise to see that midfielder Mason Mount has been linked with RB Leipzig this summer.

Reports from Germany claim that the Bundesliga outfit are keen on doing a deal for the Chelsea man who is currently on loan at Pride Park.

As we know, it's difficult for younger players to get an opportunity at Stamford Bridge, so the prospect of playing for a top side like Leipzig may appeal to the 20-year-old.

However, at this stage of his career Mount needs to think about his next move carefully as he will want to be playing regularly and potentially force his way back into Gareth Southgate's plans with England.

And, here we look at THREE reasons why he should avoid making a summer move to Germany...

He needs first-team football

Mount needs to be playing regularly if he is to develop into the player many hope he can be and you can't guarantee he will play for Leipzig every week.

They are likely to be playing Champions League football next season so even though that's a major attraction, the reality is it's a massive step up for the youngster and he might be a bit-part player.

It's a risk moving to a new league

It's great to see the likes of Jadon Sancho and other talented youngsters move to a new league and get out of their comfort zone. However, it doesn't always work out.

For every Sancho there will be an Oli Burke and it's extremely tough to adapt to a new league, style of play and culture.

If Mount doesn't settle he could have wasted a vital time in his career.

The Frank Lampard factor

This is only really likely if Derby win promotion but staying to develop under Frank Lampard has to be an option for Mount.

The Chelsea legend has given him an opportunity this season and he's thriving in this Rams side.

As well as that, Lampard could be seen as the ideal mentor for the midfielder and another season under his guidance could do him the world of good.
