Luton Town are on the lookout for a new boss and it has been suggested that Northampton Town's Jon Brady is a target.

The 47-year-old has done a good job with the Cobblers since his appointment in March 2021, as he took the team to the play-offs last season, after they were unfortunate not to win automatic promotion, with the side now third in League Two.

So, Brady's stock is on the rise and Football Insider have claimed that he is attracting interest from the Hatters, who are searching for a new manager after Nathan Jones left for Southampton.

Whilst some may be underwhelmed by the prospect of Brady, here we outline THREE reasons why it's a risk worth taking for Luton...

He's determined to prove himself

This would be a fantastic opportunity for Brady, who had previously managed non-league Brackley Town before moving to Kenilworth Road.

Of course, the risks to this are obvious, but Luton would be getting someone who is desperate to show he can do well at a higher level and will see this as his big break.

We've seen clubs go for the usual managers on the merry go-round, so it would be refreshing to see the Hatters give someone a chance from the lower leagues and it could be a decision that pays off.

The style of play

Crucially, the way Northampton play is similar to Luton in the sense that they benefit from set-plays, they press high up the pitch and they can mix it up well.

Obviously, Brady would have to adapt his approach if he was working in the Championship but you would think that he has the tools to do well with the squad at Luton.

He suits the profile of the club

Finally, Luton are a club that have punched above their weight in recent years, because they don't have the biggest budget yet there is a togetherness and spirit that has taken them far, to go with quality.

Many of the players have worked their way up the leagues and Brady would fall into that category as well.

Even though they're a good Championship side, this is the sort of appointment that suits Luton as opposed to a supposed bigger name.
