Kyle Lafferty has found game time at Norwich City tough, but with his 6 foot 4 frame and international record; he would have the experience and ability to compete in the Championship.

28 year-old Kyle Lafferty has played in multiple countries and has an impressive 318 appearances throughout his successful career.

While the Premier League has proved a step too far for Lafferty as he struggles to break into the Norwich first team; the Championship would be perfect for the Northern Irishman.

Leeds United's forwards have not been particularly proficient in front of goal this season with none of their forwards reaching double figures yet.

Chris Wood is on eight for the season, while Souleymane Doukara has had a resurgence in front of goal in recent weeks with two goals in his last four in the league.

His role

lafferty

At 6 foot 4, Lafferty can be the target man that Leeds United need. An imposing figure who, when up against tough defences, can create real problems for the opposition.

The Northern Ireland international has fired his country to Euro 2016 qualification but is not getting game-time at Norwich.

His experience in countries like Italy and Scotland, Lafferty has played against every type of centre-half and would be able to slot into the Leeds team and bring a new dimension to the United attack.

International form

Kyle Lafferty

Lafferty has a great international record for someone who has not had regular game-time at Norwich City, his 16 goals in 45 appearances means that he is one of his countries highest goal-scorers.

If he could bring that kind of form to the Championship with Leeds United then he could propel Leeds up the table, and at 28 he still has many years to play out in his career.

A regular goalscorer is needed at Elland Road, and Lafferty could be that man.

Experience in different leagues

Often when a player joins from a foreign league then it takes time to settle in as they begin to learn a new way of playing against different types of players.

Lafferty has played in five different leagues, and has gained regular playing time in every one of these leagues except the Premier League.

Championship defenders are usually strong and quick and can keep up with the modern day forward and with another striker it might take him a while to settle and learn to play against such defences.

For Lafferty, his experience against defences is vast, from back threes in Italy to rough conditions against Scottish defenders at Rangers; he would be able to settle quickly at Leeds.
