Tottenham will consider recalling Jack Clarke from his loan spell from Leeds United if his situation doesn't change by the January window.

The Londoners signed the 18-year-old from the Whites in the summer after his impressive performances in the previous campaign, however he was immediately loaned back to spend the current season under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.

But, that hasn't gone to plan so far. Clarke is yet to feature in the first six Championship fixtures and has failed to make the matchday squad in the last four league outings.

Therefore, it's no surprise to see Football Insider say that Spurs are planning to recall the teenager in the New Year if he hasn't managed to force his way into Bielsa's plans.

Here we look at THREE reasons why that could be an issue for Leeds even if Clarke isn't making an impact right now...

They may lack depth as the season progresses

Leeds fans more than most will know that injuries can seriously impact your season, so even though Clarke is watching from the stands now, things can change quickly.

Bielsa will want strength in depth and the fact that the winger is not getting in right now proves that they have quality in reserve.

In such a demanding, relentless league, it would be a blow for the promotion hopefuls to lose someone who could make an impact over the season.

He can play down either flank

Another positive for Clarke is his versatility as he can operate down either flank.

That's good from his own perspective as he isn't going to be relying on just one position to get into the team and his flexibility could be key.

Players lose form over the course of a season and Clarke can cover two positions and has the ability to change a game.

It could harm their relationship with Spurs and other top clubs

There's no doubt that Spurs will not be happy with how things have gone with Clarke so far this season.

The elite clubs want their players to play when they are out on loan and this could work against Leeds when it comes to attracting young talents in the future - particularly from Tottenham.

Even though Bielsa has a good reputation with Mauricio Pochettino, people above him at the club may not see Leeds as the right club to develop younger talents in the future.
