With Leeds United currently sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table,  the Yorkshire based side have picked up 16 points from a possible 21, losing just one of their opening seven games this season under Marcelo Bielsa.

You could forgive Leeds fans for forgetting about their former star man Kemar Roofe departing Elland Road for RSC Anderlecht this summer for a fee believed to be within the region of £5.4 million.

With United in such superb early season form, their former player, who scored an impressive 33 goals in 122 games for the Elland Road club, may be regretting his decision to depart the club he served for a period of three seasons between 2016 and 2019.

With the former Leeds man currently out injured on the sidelines for the Belgian club, we take a look at THREE reasons this player could regret leaving the club....

May struggle to adapt to a foreign league

With Roofe having plied his trade solely in English football throughout his career to date, he may find it difficult to adapt to the different style of play and tempo that he is likely to experience in the Jupiler Pro League, with only the likes of  Jonathan Panzo having so far made the move to the league having previously played in England for Chelsea's youth sides.

It will be interesting to see how Roofe adapts to a league that is likely to be played at a much lower tempo and with less physicality involved than he had become used to when playing in the Football League for Leeds and Oxford United.

He joins a largely inexperienced team

Roofe has joined up with a largely inexperienced squad, with the average age of Vincent Kompany's side just 23.9, making them among the youngest squads in the whole of the Belgian Pro League.

Is this the WORST Leeds United XI from the last 15 years? We'll let YOU decide....

Pressure will no doubt be heaped upon Roofe's shoulders, with the 26-year-old Jamaican coming in the form of one of the squads most experienced players, with the forward having made over 250 club career appearances over the course of his time in England.

May miss the influence of Marcelo Bielsa

Roofe may miss the influence that Marcelo Bielsa has had on his Leeds career, with the former West Brom player having scored 15 goals in 34 games under the experienced Argentine manager, his highest return under any manager during his time at Elland Road.

The forward player may struggle to recreate his best form under the largely inexperienced management of new Anderlecht boss Vincent Kompany, with the former Belgian international having only just  got his feet under the table after being appointed back in May of this year.
