Leeds United bounced back to the top of the Championship on Sunday thanks to an impressive 2-0 win away to Barnsley.

Daniel Stendel's side managed to frustrate the Whites for much of the game but eventually the visitor's pressure told, with substitute Eddie Nketiah firing home the opener six minutes from time.

Five minutes later, Mateusz Klich made the points safe, cooly converting from the spot after the Arsenal loanee was fouled by former White Aapo Halme.

It was not the first time that Nketiah has had a big impact on a match from the bench and will undoubtedly have given Marcelo Bielsa another selection headache, with Patrick Bamford drawing a blank for the second match running.

So, here are THREE reasons why it is time for Bielsa to make the change...

Merit

It is more than fair to say that Nketiah has earned his place in the starting XI.

After maybe one or two promising appearances in the cup and from the bench, you could argue that he still had a point to prove.

But now that he is regularly making a big impact, and Bamford's form is stuttering, as start would be more than deserved.

Morale

I am not sure it sends a brilliant message to Nketiah, or others on the fringes of the starting XI, if Bielsa does not reward impressive displays.

We know that the Argentinian can be fiercely loyal to his starting XI and that has often worked for him but he has to be careful not to unsettle the rest of his squad.

Bamford has played very well at times this season but when there is an option available who is showing better form, it is only right to make the switch.

Experimentation

Of course, Nketiah's inclusion does not have to result in Bamford being dropped.

Both players have been asked in the past, since the Arsenal man's arrival, how they would feel about playing with eachother and both have expressed their excitement at the prospect.

Whether that would be in a front two or with Nketiah out wide remains to be seen, but if Bielsa can get them playing together effectively it would add another useful weapon to the Leeds arsenal.
