Alan Nixon has recently reported that Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are both interested in signing Birmingham City youngster, Romello Mitchell.

United and Liverpool are arguably the two biggest clubs in the country and will always be on the look out for young, emerging talent to benefit them in the long-term, with Mitchell the latest name to appear on their scouting radar.

The young attacker has caught the eye at St. Andrew's, having been on fire for the Blues' under-18 set-up and scoring against both the Premier League giants in recent weeks.

At only 15 years of age, the striker would be allowed to depart the West Midlands club for a small compensation fee, making a move away seem ever likely with the lights of Old Trafford and Anfield bound to be a very attractive prospect for the youngster.

Here, we take a look at THREE reasons why Mitchell should snub Jose Mourinho's Manchester United to join Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool...

Liverpool, over the years, have been a club known for giving youth a chance.

Raheem Sterling and Trent Alexander-Arnold are just a couple of names who came through the youth academy at Anfield, growing into superb Premier League players and England internationals.

If Mitchell can emulate even half of the duo's success, then he's got a very promising career ahead.

Even if some players aren't ready for first-team football, Liverpool youngsters have absolutely excelled out on loan over the years.

Harry Wilson has been influential for Derby County this term and is becoming one of the best players in the Championship.

Once again, Mitchell should look at Wilson's path and take a lot of promise from it.

Is Manchester United really seen as the best place to play and grow as a footballer anymore?

Gone are the glory days from the Sir Alex Ferguson era - there's no more fear factor at Old Trafford and the likes of Marcus Rashford, who came through the academy at the club, have seen their career stagnate under Jose Mourinho.

Liverpool are a club on the ascent and would be a much better move for Mitchell.
