Burnley boss Sean Dyche is one of the latest names being linked with the vacant Derby County managerial role as the Rams continue to look for Phillip Cocu's replacement.

Wayne Rooney got his first win in charge of the club at Millwall on Saturday afternoon but whether that is enough to seal him things on a permanent basis remains to be seen.

Indeed, as per the Sun on Sunday, and backed up by journalist Alan Nixon, the Rams are looking at bringing in Dyche with him showing at Burnley what he can do as a boss in recent years.

With that said, let's take a look at three reasons why he'd be perfect for the role...

Promotion experience

The biggest beneficial of Dyche is obviously the experience he has of taking a side up and then keeping them up.

The work he has done with Burley in recent seasons has been incredible and Derby obviously want to get back into the Premier League as soon as possible - though this season that's already looking tough, of course,

Dyche will be able to turn them around, though, and get them competing at the right end in time.

Shrewd in the market

Dyche has been working on a shoestring at Burnley compared to some of the money other Premier League clubs are able to spend and that kind of nous in the transfer market is always handy.

Of course, with new owners, Derby will be able to offer him a fairly decent transfer budget and so he should be able to use that to bring in good players and strengthen accordingly.

Indeed, he'd likely also jump at the chance to work with a bit more cash - though Burnley are obviously subject to takeover speculation too at the moment.

Drive

It might seem unambitious to drop from the Premier League to the Championship, especially when Dyche has done such a good job in the top flight and deserves to stay there.

However, he may well relish the challenge that Derby represents and if he could get them back into the Premier League, with new owners backing him, and then re-establish them in the top flight it would be a very good job to have.

You can see the appeals, it just perhaps remains to be seen if Burnley are going to get new owners and what they plan for him.
