Nottingham Forest are side who certainly have not hit the heights expected of them just yet this season.

Aitor Karanka brought in 17 new signings in the summer transfer window in the hope of turning the club into promotion winners.

They won just one of their first seven matches but have turned that around slightly in recent weeks and now sit just one point outside the top six.

One of the summer signings believes that the league's early pace-setters should be wary of them, saying that they are yet to fire on all cylinders.

Colback signed for Forest on a season-long loan in the summer after spending the second half of the previous campaign with at the City Ground.

He has been a regular for the club this campaign, starting 13 of the club's 16 matches so far and becoming an integral part of Aitor Karanka's set-up.

And here are three reasons why he is absolutely right...

Karanka has experience of winning promotion before and there is no reason he would not be able to do it again.

He now has a squad built by himself and himself only so expect to seem them become even more cohesive and organised as the weeks go on.

They have what is invariably always needed in a promotion winning side and that is a goal scorer.

With nine in the Championship already, Grabban is on course to grab close to 30 goals this season and if he can do that Forest will be right up there.

He is their not-so-secret weapon.

Only Middlesbrough and Swansea City have a better defensive record that Nottingham Forest so far this season.

Much of Karanka's success with Middlesbrough was built on a solid back-line and he appears to have mastered that at the City Ground as well.

If the creative side of their game kicks in they will have a real shot at promotion.
